About us

We have been serving West Matchbox since 1909. We are made up of 5 fire stations and one of those stations, Station 4, covers Matchbox International Airport. Station 4 is operated by Matchbox City, but doesn't respond to any city calls unless called in for mutual aid by West Matchbox. We have 4 other stations, 1,2,3,6 that all cover the city. Station 3 is our head quarters and has a mix of newer and older trucks in it. Station 1 has our newest aerial ladder truck and engine, Engine 28. Station 6 has all brand new trucks in it, and the station its self just opened in April 2012. Feel free to continue to navigate through the rest of the page to see our trucks and list of Mutual Aid towns.

Station 1 just after it was built

Picture
Here is a picture of our Station 1 just after it was build in 1965. The 2 apparatus in this picture is Medic 1, which is a 1963 Cadillac station wagon. The truck is Engine 1, and that is a 1959 Pierce Arrow. Before this station we had a station the was built in 1909, but it got old so we had it demolished.
